With a local family background in building and construction, Rian Murphy qualified in Landscape and Garden Design at Aylesbury College of Horticulture. He went on to gain the National diploma in Horticulture at the renowned Oaklands College in St Albans and Berkshire College of Agriculture in Maidenhead.
Having worked on private projects whilst studying, Rian launched Silverleaf Landscaping in 2002. Below are some examples of the wide range of projects completed since that launch. We also have a large photograph portfolio available for viewing on request.
The client for this project had recently had a kitchen extension built on to their property and needed a patio seating area behind it. The new patio consisted of black limestone with blue clay bricks used for an edging border
This client was in need of a driveway as street parking was becoming problematic. After the excavation of 60 tonnes of soil, work began on building a brick, retaining wall enabling two cars to sit adjacently on the completed driveway. The driveway was finished by laying concrete, block paving in a Brindle colour.
Garden Redesign, Berkhamstead, Hertfordshire
This job was a total redesign of a back garden on a new build estate in Berkhamstead. We were working from a planned drawing that one of our recommended garden designers had drawn up for the client. The design was quite basic with us installing a new patio with side path leading to a small paved seating area, we constructed a timber pergola walkway and laid a new lawn.
